Central Oregon has always been a place that people purposefully moved to because they wanted to live here, in many cases coming without a job in hand. Over the years the tech community has grown to become the small but thriving place it is today. One of the key challenges for any regional tech eco-system has been the need to attract, train, and retain key talent needed to fuel the growing businesses in the community. Bruce’s vision for BendPoly was born out of the realization for this need and this program aims to solve that problem in a very novel way that will be a key asset for the Central Oregon economy. Bruce and I have worked together on a number of Central Oregon tech initiatives over the past several years and his deep talent, insight, and experience are instrumental to the development of BendPoly.

Marketo has nearly 4,000 companies of all sizes and industries around the world as customers. One of the most frequent issues I hear when I meet with them is that they can’t find people with these new digital marketing skills. I frequently hear about Marketo users who have received two promotions and tripled their salaries in two years, all because of the value they are adding. The practical skills and hands-on training BendPoly is offering is an invaluable asset, both for our customers and for these students.
